We are currently seeking an Engineer Projects to join our Water & Waste Infrastructure Branch.

Primary Objectives of the position:

  • Delivery of planning, design and construction phases of wastewater, water and solid waste Capital Works projects, in consultation with the Senior Engineer Projects and the Principal Engineer – Design & Delivery of the Departments annual capital works program.
  • Provision of specialist engineering advice and project control in the delivery of capital works program.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering, project and contract management of water, wastewater and/or solid waste projects in a medium to large multi-disciplined organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience within a utility organisation and high-level skills in capital project management, process improvement and business performance improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in improve system efficiencies particularly related to utility services. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of infrastructure project management particularly relating to wastewater and solid waste capital projects.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks within a demanding framework and think laterally for solutions. 
  • Well-developed written communication skills with demonstrated ability to write technical reports.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a national police history check.
