Land Officer 

Permanent Position - Full Time

The Position

Administer the management of the City's land assets through the acquisition or disposal of land required to meet the City's needs and Council's objectives. Identify land opportunities for the City to develop into well-developed programs, strategies, plans and projects.

Key areas of accountability for this position will include:

  • Assist with the development of a program to investigate and implement land projects (Council owned land) and any identified surplus Reserves (State owned land managed by the City via a management order);
  • Identify land asset investment opportunities for the City to assess their development potential, financial feasibility, risks and capital return with a view to reducing the City's medium to long term reliance on rates revenue; and
  • Prepare project/tender briefs, obtain quotations and prepare contracts to engage the services of specialist consultants.

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in Planning or Business and/or at least 5 years' experience in project management and land administration;
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, including the use of statistical data; and
  • Sound negotiation skills.

Salary: $79,475 - $89,365 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications) plus superannuation.
