Marketing & Communications Advisor

The City of Parramatta Council is currently looking for 2 Marketing and Communications Advisors to join the team. Individuals with proven experience in leading the development and implementation of end-to-end marketing and communications campaigns and initiatives to:

  • Develop powerful City and Council marketing, promotions, communications, advocacy, partnerships and programs to achieve Council and City goals and objectives
  • Positively position Parramatta as a destination of choice for people to live, work, play, invest, do business and study
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders with influence to achieve goals and objectives

About the Role
The Marketing & Communications Advisor is responsible for creating and executing integrated marketing, promotion and communications tactical campaigns and initiatives that aligns with the City and Council brand to increase the positive profile of the City and Council, and drive consideration, visitation and investment to the City. This position is responsible for managing activity to cross functionally design, coordinate, and deliver tactical marketing and communications that actively reach and target identified market segments to achieve strategic objectives. Key components of the role include effective and efficient management of projects to ensure high quality and timely delivery of campaigns; manage the marketing and communications activities for Council and City which are data-driven and with a digital first approach; and establish and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal collaboration to achieve strategic marketing and communications objectives.

About You
You have at least 5 years’ of experience in marketing and communications in a related sector. You are a smart, energetic, highly driven, proactive and motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and exceptional project management and communications skills. You are experienced in managing competing priorities and tight deadlines. You are data-driven with a digital-first mindset . Experience with a broad range of media-buying experience is desired but not essential. You have excellent interpersonal skills with experience managing internal and external stakeholder relationships. The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, or other related field.
