This position presents you with a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in leading the postgraduate teaching program and join the UTS team that has led, facilitated or participated in some of the most complex, transformational, innovative and exciting policy and research projects undertaken in recent years.

UTS Institute for Public Policy and Governance (UTS:IPPG) has three core strands: Academic research; graduate teaching and professional development training; and external research and consultants.  UTS:IPPG team works closely and maintains extensive professional networks within the university and with governments; industry; not-for-profit and community based organisations across Australia and internationally. The team members are leaders in their field and include: Associate Professor Roberta Ryan; Professor Alan Morris; Professor Lee Pugalis; Dr Bligh Grant; and Dr. Joseph Drew

In this role, you will lead all aspects of the postgraduate teaching program. You will collaborate with colleagues and industry partners and undertake a key role in content review / development, promotion, teaching and assessment of the postgraduate teaching program. 

You will also contribute to the internationalisation of the postgraduate teaching program and the development of a new postgraduate course.

 To be successful in securing this role at Level B, you will have:

  • substantial teaching/tutoring experience with evidence of good teaching in the fields of local government studies, political science, policy studies, economics and finance or social science.
  • evidence (such as research papers) of a capacity to undertake high quality research and publish in leading, refereed journals.
  • research-level knowledge of local government as evidenced by a capability to contribute to local government literature.

To be successful in securing this role at Level C, you will have:

  • evidence of significant experience of course/unit program coordination
  • evidence of substantial research agenda outputs/outcomes
  • demonstrated capacity to fulfil management service roles.

Base Salary Range: $96,992 to $110,988 pa (Level B to Level C)

 This appointment will be on a continuing full-time basis.
