The Principal Planner – Development Advice will exercise team management responsibilities and will take the lead in the day-to-day delivery of development advice services for all development types, including residential, commercial, industrial and subdivision. The position plays an important leadership role in the achievement of our branch objectives being excellent built and environmental outcomes, outstanding customer service, efficient processing of applications and staff wellbeing and engagement.

Scope of responsibility includes overseeing our formal development advice service, the provision of day-to-day informal advice, both written and verbal, as well as contributing to the early assessment of development applications through our ‘clearing house’. A key objective is to ensure that development proposals are of a high quality, and that associated development applications are ‘assessment ready’, prior to being formally received by Council. A prime accountability will be to collaborate with branch staff to deliver professionally sound development advice but with an unwavering customer focus.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced urban planner with high energy, an outgoing personality and excellent communication skills. A track record of collaboration with other industry professionals is key as is a demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence.

A leaseback vehicle is available with this position.

Salary: commencing at $3937.40 gross per fortnight.
