Dr Ken King has been appointed chief executive officer to the Pilbara Development Commission.

 

Dr Ken King holds tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering and teaching; and is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) as well as a Senior Associate (Resource Sustainability) for the Eidos Institute (an Australian research institute with a focus on public policy.)

 

Dr King has worked in the public and private sector in a number of regional areas in Australia and overseas, in areas of business, industry, training education and regional economic development.

 

WA Regional Development Minister Brendon Grylls said Dr King’s appointment completes the reorganisation of the Pilbara Development Commission with the recent appointment of a new board under chairman Mike Hollett and the amalgamation of the Pilbara Cities Office into the commission.

 

“With the commitment made by the Liberal National Government to the Pilbara Cities program and the development of the region, I am certain the commission will continue its focus on infrastructure, land, community projects and economic development.

 

The Pilbara Development Commission has responsibility for implementing the Pilbara Cities initiative.
