Regional Western Australia is set to receive funding boosts under the state’s Regional Development Assistance Program (RDAP) with three residential subdivisions at Dalwallinu, Dowerin and Hyden.

RDAP is a State-wide LandCorp initiative that will focuses on growth of regional towns where there is limited or no private sector land development activity, but where a need for residential or light industrial land has been identified by local government.

Landcorp has published a set of guidelines for local government applicants of the program;

  • Liaising with the Department of Regional Development and Lands to identify available crown land
  • Checking that the necessary service infrastructure is available (eg water, power, sewerage)
  • Ensuring zoning of the land is appropriate (or has a resolution from council to initiate a rezoning)
  • Outlining what has already been done to make the identified land development-ready
  • Ensuring the application form is complete

Lands Minister Brendon Grylls announced in Dalwallinu the start of construction of 10 lots as part of the Dalwallinu RDAP development.

Mr Grylls also announced that seven residential lots at Dowerin would be released for sale by the end of the month, and work would start soon on building a further 10 residential lots at Hyden.

Construction of the Dalwallinu residential subdivision is being undertaken by Direct Contracting, a regional civil construction contractor based at Jurien Bay.
