Maitland City Council is a contemporary organisation responsible for providing a wide range of services to Maitland and its growing population. Council is seeking a motivated professional to complement its dynamic and diverse workforce.

About the role

This role will offer the right person an opportunity to take the lead in delivering a renewed strategic approach and focus for the evolution and implementation of Council’s Community Engagement Strategy. Working hands on, side by side with Council teams, the role will build their understanding and capacity in the engagement space, transforming what is sometimes seen as a simple element into an integral and embedded part of project planning and delivery. There is scope in this role to explore and deploy engagement methods outside of the traditional and ordinary, with a focus on diversity in reaching a wide cross section of the community and the investigation of smart technology in doing this.   

About you

You will be an energetic engagement professional with substantial experience in a similar role. With qualifications in community engagement, business, social sciences, communications or a related discipline you will have experience in leading community/stakeholder engagement using smart and innovative techniques and processes that are both digital and offline. Your previous experience in project management from strategy development and planning through to implementation and review will see you succeed in the role.

This is a permanent full-time role offering a competitive salary ranging from $91,383 up to $101,435 per year plus super.
