This specialist senior role reports to the Manager Civil and Water Operations.  Key responsibilities include :-

• providing strategic engineering and environment advice and expertise in relation to water resource management;
• developing, maintaining and evaluating policies and procedures for the City’s wastewater/stormwater networks and groundwater schemes;
• programming operational, maintenance and capital/renewal works, overseeing the department’s works schedule and managing contracts and contractors;
• leading, managing, motivating and developing the diverse and dedicated water operations team.

Applications are encouraged from appropriately experienced water management professionals with the superior leadership, stakeholder relationship management and financial management skills necessary to be successful in such a role.  A strong customer service and community engagement orientation will also be essential.  This role may suit either an emerging or more seasoned water operations professional.  Experience in local government will be well regarded but is not essential.
