Salary: $80,006.71 – $87,992.44 gross per annum + 9.5% superannuation + leaseback vehicle + mobile phone

Permanent full-time (76 hours per fortnight)

Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive local government organisation committed to serving our vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney.

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced horticultural professional to join the Open Space – Sportsfields team.

 The Supervisor Open Space - Sportsfields leads the team involved in the maintenance and preparation of sportsfields, and facilities for competition sports and training within the local government area, including the maintenance of irrigation systems.  The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and supervising a team of staff (and contractors) in open space - sportsfields operations, as well as administration, monitoring and investigating systemised maintenance requests, budget management, and workplace health and safety compliance.

 To be considered for this role you must demonstrate how you meet the following essential criteria:

 Certificate III in Horticulture, Greenkeeping or equivalent.

  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role, in Open Space Management.
  • Demonstrated experience in team management.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management in a similarly sized operation.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of TechnologyOne and other corporate systems.
  • Experience in dealing with members of the public.
  • Experience in sportsfield turf management, and renovation.
  • Competent computer skills, including word processing and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • An ability to work as part of a team.
  • Be self-motivated and show initiative in the delegated areas of responsibility.
  • A willingness to comply with all Council’s policies and procedures.
  • Class C Driver’s Licence.
