The City of Sydney has an ambitious program of activities aimed at leading, empowering and enabling its communities to take action on climate change. Under its Sustainable Sydney 2030 Community Plan and Office Sector Strategy it sets out the ways in which it will work with industry partners to accelerate action in the business community towards net zero and beyond, well in advance of the 2050 deadline set by the Paris Agreement.
The City of Sydney Sustainability Programs Team is tasked to implement these plans through a suite of world-class engagement programs. The CitySwitch Green Office program is a well-established and high profile initiative of that team, which has been supporting leading businesses for over a decade. Despite being a voluntary program, its members are committed to action. In 2017 alone, members saved over 666,000 tonnes of carbon emissions through energy efficiency, renewables and carbon offsetting. They also work on waste and health and productivity initiatives.
The program supports action through the provision of events, resources, one-to-one program manager support and an annual awards program to recognise efforts and support action. Running for fourteen years the program is well regarded, but as a customer and data driven organisation, we seek to constantly evolve and increase its delivery quality to match the expectations of its member base. The program is governed by a national network of city and local councils. It is coordinated by the City of Sydney. This role will manage the delivery of a high quality national program in line with the agreed three year business plan.
The Sustainability Engagement Coordinator - CitySwitch is a part time 0.5 FTE role. It will manage the national service delivery including; manage delivery of campaigns, communications and activities for signatories; lead and document regular stakeholder meetings; use their strong analytical skills to provide quarterly reporting and robust budget management. They will use their customer service skills to provide guidance to program managers around the country so that they can, in turn, deliver member services effectively and efficiently. They will use their project management skills to maintain work flow and report on promotional and operational activities and successes.
Highly comfortable with behaviour change theory and practice, digital service delivery, and with a working knowledge of gamification principles, the role will also support the development and delivery of an exciting new challenge platform which we intend with further build and enhance the reputation and impact of the program over the next three years.
Do you want to be part of something challenging and rewarding? Are you passionate about serving our community? The City of Sydney might be the right career move for you.
