About the role
The position is an integral part of the Departments Leadership team and is responsible for providing both day-to-day management and long term strategic direction to the Filming & Outdoor Events Team.
The role is a key liaison to Government organisations and builds critical stakeholder relationships, providing expert advice on events, filming and the uses of public land including parades, rallies, festivals, and annual and cultural events.
About the team
The Filming & Outdoor Events Team is responsible for the approval and coordination of a range of events and activities taking place on the City's land including filming, markets, busking, outdoor events, and other temporary uses in the public domain.
Criteria / skills
The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Arts, Events or equivalent competencies gained through career or industry experience in the management of events and or filming. They will be a Leader with strong communication skills, the ability to build and negotiate relationships, financially savvy, and poses a drive to achieve. They will have an understanding of Government processes and legislation in relation to the filming and event industry, and an ability to identify and manage the activities inherit risks.
They will also have developed ability to initiate action, reason conceptually and to resolve sensitive problems / issues which may involve on the spot solutions.
