The City of Sydney Library provides a space for our vibrant communities to grow, learn, connect and create. The Library operates across nine branches including our brand new state of the art library at Green Square and our Darling Square library which is due for completion in 2019.

We are seeking a tech enthusiast with a talent for linking new ideas to services, and a knack for inspiring and supporting others to embrace new and emerging technology within library services.

The primary purpose of this role is to:

• support digital citizenship by driving the development of digital literacy skills among visitors, customers and staff
• facilitate training for the wide-range of library and consumer technology products within library spaces
• troubleshoot and maintain library computers, hardware and audio visual (AV) equipment
• design, produce and update training materials for the technology within library spaces
• proactively maintain content for the digital display screens in libraries using a content management system
• research, assess and proactively improve on efficiency and effectiveness of library infrastructure and technology
• develop and maintain a framework of regular statistical reporting.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• tertiary qualifications in Information, Technology, Creative Intelligence and Innovation, Data Analysis, Communications, Libraries, Education or the equivalent gained by extensive practical experience
• excellent interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication
• demonstrated high level understanding and commitment to customer service specialising in digital and technology services
• demonstrated experience in organising and presenting technology training
• a track record of meeting deadlines and balancing competing priorities.
