The Secretariat Team is looking for a Committee Secretary to join the team supporting the City of Sydney Council in their decision making.

Working in the Secretariat Team you will have an ability to coordinate and process large volumes of information; prioritise, multitask and work under pressure within tight, and at times competing, deadlines.

You will have initiative, the ability to work independently as well as in a strongly collaborative team environment and high level written and oral communication skills, including advanced word processing, document formatting and experience in the use of up-to-date technology to support meetings.

Tact and sensitivity, a strong customer focus and a broad understanding of the local government sector are also essential.

The four members of the team are responsible for the governance and business processes that underpin the four Committees of Council, Council, the Central Sydney Planning Committee and the Local Planning Panel.

Core activities include processing reports for the preparation of agendas and business papers, provision of advice and assistance to internal stakeholders in drafting reports and other documents for consideration as well as administration of all pre and post meeting procedures.
