People & Culture Coordinator

The Position

This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of an exciting zoo in the role of fulltime People & Culture Coordinator utilising your skills in an area that you are genuinely passionate about. 

The P&C Coordinator will work with the People & Culture Manager to ensure the effective operation of the Sydney Zoo HR function. The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously whilst also collaborating with the rest of the P&C team. 

The P&C Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the management of the organisations daily HR functions including administration of the Time & Attendance system, staff recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, the employee experience function and assisting in supporting staff and managers with HR queries.

This is a full time position reporting to the People & Culture Manager of Sydney Zoo.

Skills, Knowledge, and Relevant Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in business related field or equivalent industry experience
  • 2 year’s relevant experience in an equivalent related role 
  • Demonstrated experience managing deadlines of multiple simultaneous tasks, 
  • Developed interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, including negotiation skills. 
  • Advanced Microsoft suite use (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to work with competing deadlines and prioritise as required
  • Payroll processing experience (desirable)
  • Experience with HumanForce and Micropay programs (desirable)
  • Experience with BambooHR (desirable)
