Banyule BPI offers services for building permit certification, inspections, statutory services, dispensations and variations, information services to the community and private builders, specialist building consulting and quality inspections.

We have an opportunity for a qualified Building Surveyor to join us in temporary 12 month, full time position. In this role you will contribute to an effective building permit service, assist Building Surveyors and liaising with clients.

You will be based at our Greensborough office conveniently located close to public transport and shops. We can offer you an annual salary of $63,440 - $83,796* plus super, vehicle for commuter use, 19 day month and a great range of Council benefits!

The successful applicant will have:

• A Degree or Diploma in Building Surveying
• Prior experience within Local Government or similar organisation of Building Control
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of Building Act 1993 and Building Regulations 2006, and the ability to apply this knowledge
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in a busy team environment, as well as independently
• Current Drivers licence is essential
