Media & Marketing Communications Officer

Our dynamic Communications team are seeking a skilled, passionate and experienced Media and Marketing Communications officer to join them on a permanent full time basis. In this role you will provide practical and skilful support and advice to the organisation on a range of key communications projects within the media, public relations and marketing area.

One day you will be responding to media enquiries and developing media opportunities and the next you will be helping our internal customers with creative ways to promote their services and events. This role offers lots of variety, challenges and opportunities.

A bit about you?

We are looking for someone professional and enthusiastic who is willing bring new ideas to the table and collaborate with the team and others to get great results. You’ll have great interpersonal skills, political awareness and a radar for a good story or media opportunity. You may be a tea or a coffee enthusiast, don’t worry we accept all walks of life!

What we are looking for from you:

  • Experience in all facets of media management including risk and crisis management with the ability to initiate prompt action in matters involving sensitive and complex issues
  • Experience in and strong working knowledge of all aspects of marketing communications
  • Experience in corporate communications including website and e-marketing tools and channels
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective communications strategies that increase the positive profile of organisations and raise public understanding of programs and services

We’re a collaborative and energetic team who works with every part of the organisation on a huge variety of projects. We love getting things done and are constantly looking to improve our own practice. Delivering great customer experience and promoting and protecting the reputation of the organisation are our highest priorities.

We manage all aspects of communications for Banyule including overseeing our website and social media channels, producing publications and overseeing public relations, marketing and advertising opportunities.
