Community Safety Officer

Would you like to be part of the Youth and Community Partnerships team and work with the community to build safe, healthy and engaged communities?

 

We are looking for a highly competent professional with strong leadership and facilitation skills. They will have experience in collaborative partnerships in the delivery of community orientated programs. The successful applicant will undertake community development activities that will contribute to targeted crime prevention and community safety in the Banyule Community.

 

The Youth and Family Services department at Banyule City Council sits within the Community Programs directorate. The Youth and Community Partnerships team operates within a community capacity building framework.  It delivers services through a number of key strategic portfolios and planning frameworks including Community Safety, Shop 48 The Harmony Centre, Project 3081, Community Liaison and Youth Services. 

 

To be successful you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience.
  • Relevant experience working within a community capacity building and development practice.
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding of community safety and crime prevention in relation to local communities.
  • Experience in and a good understanding of local government.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
