Reporting to the CEO, this key executive role is an integral part of the Executive Management Team, contributing directly to the achievement of organisational goals and objectives through strategic leadership and delivery of services and programmes within the Community Programs directorate.  

Banyule City Council’s Community Programs directorate is vital in meeting and responding to Council’s strategic direction under People and Participation in the City Plan. The directorate is responsible for the provision of a number of programs and services directed to babies, children, young people, families and the elderly. The directorate is also responsible for recreational, leisure & cultural services and oversees the management of a range of facilities within the community.

The successful candidate will be suitably qualified, with demonstrated extensive senior leadership experience in a role with complex service and program delivery obligations. This will include a proven track record of delivering professional, high performance projects with significant financial and people investment. You will be an experienced Leader with exceptional negotiating and advocacy skills, along with political acumen to effectively influence and deliver strategic changes across the organisation and community.

To be successful you will also have demonstrated experience working collaboratively and strategically as part of a senior management team and the ability to motivate, develop and support the directorate to deliver a range of exciting and high profile projects and services.
