Independent Audit & Risk Committee Member

Banyule City Council is seeking expressions of interest for the appointment of an Independent Member to the Audit & Risk Committee. The Audit & Risk Committee provides Council with independent assurance and assistance in the areas of financial reporting, audit, internal control effectiveness, risk management, regulatory compliance and performance reporting.

 

Key requirements of this role:

  • Financial management
  • Public sector management
  • Strategic risk management expertise
  • Monitor the compliance of Council policies and procedures
  • Three-year term commencing September 2020
  • Four meetings per year

 

The Committee structure is designed to include a balance of professional skills, knowledge and technical experience to effectively discharge its responsibilities outlined in the Audit & Risk Committee Charter. 


In addition to the key requirements of this role, you will have detailed knowledge and experience in business, governance and risk management relevant to a large organisation. It is preferable that you understand the functions of local and/or state government.
