Solo Operator

Our Operations Department is responsible for providing a range of services to Council including the collection of waste and recyclable materials from within the municipality and the Banyule Waste Recovery Centre, mechanical sweeping of roads & footpaths, inspection and maintenance of pits & drains, clearance of litter bins from shopping centres and litter bins, cleaning of council’s toilet blocks and barbeques and the management of Council's plant and Fleet.

 

We have a permanent full time role for a safe and reliable Solo Operator. You will ensure the efficient collection of household garbage/recycling/organics, commercial waste, parks waste and bundle branch collection.

 

Your passion for ensuring a safe workplace and community as well as taking pride in ensuring equipment is maintained and in good condition will be highly desirable.

 

You will need:

  • Current heavy Rigid truck licence
  • Proficient in the use of two-way radio communication systems
  • History of safe and competent operation of vehicles
  • Experience operating a side and rear loader
  • Experience in collection of household garbage/recycling/organics, commercial, parks waste, dump rubbish and hard waste
  • OH&S awareness and understanding
  • Commitment to high ethical standards
