This is a unique opportunity to provide exceptional leadership in two leisure facilities (Sunshine Leisure Centre and St Albans Leisure Centre) in Melbourne’s West through a period of exciting change.

The Health and Fitness Unit Manager oversees the growth of the health and fitness programs to enhance community benefit and improve financial performance at both the Sunshine and St Albans Leisure Centres. Exciting upcoming changes for the Centres include:

  • The planned redevelopment of the St Albans Leisure Centre into a Health and Wellbeing Hub with design planned in 2018/19 and construction starting in 2019/20. Estimated project cost $45- $50M.
  • Building and embedding a joint management model that maximises synergies of both centres and builds a united culture.
  • Driving cultural change to build a Community First Culture that engages a diverse workforce to deliver exceptional service to the community.

The successful person will have:

  • A highly developed understanding of the health and fitness industry and capacity to translate that experience into the development of effective programs, services, and promotional activities based on community need.
  • The ability to work towards agreed team and personal KPI’s.
  • Well-developed supervisory skills and ability to manage lead and train a large, diverse team of multi-disciplinary staff and contractors.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in managing risk and OH&S
  • Strong leadership and well developed communication skills
