Brimbank Council in the centre of Melbourne's West is undergoing growth and significant change.  There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join the Community Planning and Advocacy Department and lead the planning and shaping of the Council Plan.

This is a position for a dynamic self starter with well developed communication and engagement skills who can readily identify and consolidate multi-sectoral partnerships based on an understanding and knowledge of the issues, trends and government directions around local community planning, funding directions and emerging issues.

You will have an ability to lead high level strategic planning while also initiating and delivering practical solutions to local issues. You will be tertiary qualified in a related discipline with experience in community and corporate planning particularly in a local government context. 

Selection Criteria:
Essential: 

• Do you haveTertiary a qualification in Business, Management or Social Sciences related discipline?
• Do you have extensive experience in community planning frameworks and operational performance analysis?
• Do you have advanced understanding of and experience relating to organisational planning and performance as it applies to Local Government and a sound understanding of the social, political and legal frameworks in which local government operates?
