Legal Officer (Planning)

 

Brimbank City Council is seeking a qualified and experienced practising lawyer to assist with the management of Council’s obligations under the Planning and Environment Act 1987, related regulations and statutory rules, the Brimbank Planning Scheme and the Victorian Planning Provisions by: 

  • providing legal advice and coordinating external legal services; 
  • providing legal case management services in relation to major litigation and high risk legal proceedings involving Council; and 
  • assisting relevant internal project managers and stakeholders to manage significant high-risk issues that may lead to litigation, and assist with preparation for impending major litigation.
