Strategic Waste Officer - [Archived Advertisement]

Are you excited by driving change, leading strategic direction, engaging with people and solving problems? 

We are looking for a competent and dedicated Strategic Waste Officer to join our Waste Services Team to oversee the implementation of the Waste and Resource Management Strategy and Waste Management plans, programs and policies.

Your responsibilities will also include facilitating advice and education to Greater Bendigo households, businesses and industries on waste management, reduction, re-use and recycling. You will also support the City to ensure compliance with legislative requirements associated with waste management.  You will also be comfortable liaising with external agencies and State Government bodies. 

The successful applicant will be pro-active, show initiative, demonstrate proven innovative thinking and be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, along with having excellent presentation skills.  Established project management skills are also key to the role. 

Qualifications and relevant experience in Environmental Science, Waste Management or similar discipline are essential.
