Within the City of Greater Dandenong our non residential rate base makes up around half of our rate income, and local businesses provide jobs for almost one third of our working residents.  Accordingly services to business are a high priority.

This role sits within the Economic Development Unit of the wider Greater Dandenong Business Group.  The busy team deliver a range of support services and programs to the business community with a focus on increasing economic resilience, and activities that support ongoing business and economic growth.

The successful applicant will contribute to and support the activities of the Economic Development Unit and Greater Dandenong Business through the implementation of Council's Local Economic and Employment Development Strategy, and annual business plans, including a wide range of events and programs.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area are desirable, which may include Business Administration, Social Sciences and/or Urban Planning with some relevant work experience, or lesser formal qualifications with significant relevant experience.

The ability to successfully liaise with multiple stakeholders, work cooperatively within a prescribed governance structure, monitor programs, demonstrate sound relationship building skills and possess a positive 'can-do' attitude will be highly regarded. Additionally, creativity and strong conceptual thinking skills would be an asset.
