Research and Support Officer

This newly created position will provide support to the General Manager Community Life through research solutions and direct engagement with Community Life Department Managers.

Key responsibilities

  • Research and investigate current issues and trends.
  • Prepare high quality reports, briefings and policies.
  • Prepare internal and external communications.
  • Advise on political matters.
  • Work across the organisation to provide policy and research solutions.

Key attributes

  • Extensive experience in research and policy development.
  • High level knowledge of issues relating to governance, current affairs and the Greater Geelong region.
  • Sound knowledge of government operations and communications.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce community focused content.  
  • Ability to plan and drive your own and others work to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • The interpersonal skills to liaise with a range of professionals.
