Arts Events Officer

This brand new position will provide creative and effective arts event development and management for the City's Arts & Culture Department. 

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies and operational plans for major events such as Geelong After Dark and Mountain to Mouth.
  • Provide expert event management advice.
  • Liaise with event organisers and contractors.
  • Identify opportunities for funding, sponsorship and partnerships. 

Key attributes

  • Demonstrated experience in event planning and delivery within the arts and culture sector and/or cultural tourism, project management, programming, budgeting and partnership development.
  • Understanding of the role of events in place activation.
  • Ability to contribute at both a conceptual and logistical level of event delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills.
  • Ability to involve event organisers, community organisations, and other internal departments.
