The City of Stirling lies approximately 8 km north of the Perth CBD, it covers approximately 100 square kms and it includes around 30 suburbs. As a Western Australian Local Government, the City of Stirling leads the way in terms of its provision and delivery of more than 200 different services, activities and programs to its diverse community.

Applications are now invited for the position of Director Community Development which reports to the CEO and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team.

Leading a workforce of +350 FTE employees, the Director Community Development is responsible for delivering across four key areas; Community Services, Community Safety, Customer Service and Communication, and Recreation and Leisure.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team at the City, the Director must also contribute to whole of organisation strategies, initiatives and programs. At Directorate level, the Director oversees the management of four business units, a significant portfolio of assets/resources, budgets, risk management, performance, evaluation and reporting.

Intending applicants must bring high level strategic leadership, management and planning skills and experience. The Director must be capable of communicating and working with a diverse range of stakeholders which will include a wide range of community groups, Elected Members of Council and from time to time State and Federal MPs. High level negotiation, communication, presentation and advocacy skills are essential.

A total remuneration package of $231,500 to $272,300, inclusive of salary of $195,168 - $233,768, plus superannuation at 9.5%, and business and private use of a City provided motor vehicle ($18,000 value) will be negotiated.
