We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person who will be responsible for the planning and delivery of a range of high quality services and programs for young people. 

As a Youth Development Officer you will support the development of young people to participate in, connect with and contribute to Council and the community and generate a wide variety of responses aimed at young people, with the aim to improve opportunities for youth participation and civic engagement. You will assist with raising their voice and expanding their skills and capacity to influence better outcomes.

Experience in program logic to support the design, development and implementation of youth participation programs and initiatives is preferred. You will also have demonstrated capacity to develop activities to support the positive development of young people, build skills, encourage learning and promote social connection and to support young people as they negotiate complex issues and transitions in their lives. Experience in project and or event management is highly desirable.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or lesser qualification with substantial experience in working within a youth service setting is desirable. A Working with Children Card is essential.
