Moreland Maternal & Child Health Enhanced Position:

  • $58.63 per hour + Qualification Allowance + Super
  • Supportive Team Environment
  • Full time but part time will be considered
  • 38 hour week with access to a fortnightly RDO (full time employees only)

Moreland City Council has a fantastic opportunity for an Enhanced Maternal & Child Health Nurse to work within their dynamic MCH team.

You will be supported by a comprehensive orientation, supervision, collegial networks along with the incumbent family support worker.

The Enhanced Maternal and Child Health (EMCH) Nurse provides services to parents and families with extra needs that require a more intensive level of support. The Enhanced nurses are able to visit families in their homes, in the community or meet at the MCH centre. This service is available to parents/carers who may be experiencing a range of issue including, mental health, family violence, homelessness or social isolation. It is also available for premature babies, those with medical issues, low birth weights or for children with a disability.

To be successful in this role you will have Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife and hold recognised qualifications in Maternal and Child Health Nursing. You will also bring to the role;

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in current family support practice  
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a complex and highly vulnerable client group
  • Demonstrated ability to network extensively with other service providers
  • Experience in providing appropriate parenting advice

The successful applicant will be required to obtain an employee Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
