Moreland City Council is located in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne and is one of the most populous and culturally diverse municipalities. The City Operations Centre is located in Hadfield, just 8km from the CBD and offers excellent public transport and cycling access for employees.
Council is seeking an experienced professional to play a leading role in the Roads Unit, comprising both maintenance and capital works services of our extensive road and footpath network as well as other related infrastructure including bridges, drainage and street furniture. Reporting to the Manager Roads, Fleet and Waste your strong leadership and people skills will be essential to effectively and sensitively manage and develop a performance based culture.
Extensive experience in management and development of asset maintenance and improvement programs is essential as well as a sound knowledge of construction management requirements. A certificate IV in Civil Construction or equivalent is also desirable to the role.
Ability to manage change in a constructive manner and experience in operational budget management and a sound understanding of related legislation are key requirements of this challenging position.
