Moreland City Council is located in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne and is one of the most populous and culturally diverse municipalities. Located in Coburg, Moreland City Council is just 8km from the CBD and offers excellent public transport and cycling access for employees.

We are seeking a politically astute leader to set the standard of support to elected officials and civic events for the organisation. Leading the important functions of Mayor and Councillor support and Civic Events, you will drive continuous improvement in your team’s processes and service, providing support and leadership to your direct reports and education and support to the broader staff at Council on the protocols and processes. This role will require you to build and maintain strong relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and facilitate excellent customer service across the business and the community.

Ideally you will have experience in delivering events with a range of stakeholders including elected officials, funding bodies and community members and groups. You will also bring a customer service focus and political acumen, and an understanding of what it takes to provide high quality executive and administrative support.

This is a critical leadership position in the Governance and Civic Protocols unit and will report directly to the Unit Manager.

Relevant experience in government is essential, together with superior communication skills, a proactive approach and demonstrated success in team leadership.
