ABOUT MORELAND

Moreland City Council is located in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne and is one of the most populous and culturally diverse municipalities. Located in Coburg, Moreland City Council is just 8km from the CBD and offers excellent public transport and cycling access for employees.

We are offering a fantastic opportunity to become part of the Social Support Programs Leadership Team as the Coordinator Community Transport. You will be responsible for the supervision of transport drivers, daily contact with Moreland residents who are eligible to access the Community Transport Program.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Coordinator Community Transport position is an integral role in the delivery of our Social Support Programs and provides leadership to the Community Transport Team. You will ensure that Council’s Community Transport Program is managed in accordance with legislative requirements, responsible for the development of service plans for eligible clients and undertake assessments/reviews of services and foster positive customer service with the community and the Transport team.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE

  • Knowledge of ageing and disability and the impact on individuals and their families.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, support and monitoring.
  • Computer literate and able to input data quickly and accurately and manage data systems.
  • Knowledge of Carelink+ and Route Match desirable.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Tertiary qualification in Community Development, Recreation, or Social Sciences and substantial experience in working with older people or people with disabilities.
  • Must hold or agree to undertake Subject 4101 (Operators of Scheduled (Bus) Services that operates five or less vehicles) in "Transport Management Course in Bus and Coach Operations" as directed by the Department of Infrastructure.
  • Ability to speak a community language is highly desirable.
