Independent Audit and Risk Management Committee Member 


Moreland City Council is seeking expressions of interest for the appointment of an Independent Member to the Audit and Risk Management Committee. The Audit and Risk Management Committee is an advisory committee to Council that provides Council with independent assurance and assistance in the areas of financial reporting, audit, internal control effectiveness, risk management, regulatory compliance and performance reporting.

Key requirements of this role:

  • Strategic risk management expertise
  • Data governance and information security expertise
  • Three-year term commencing June 2019
  • Five meetings per year, with potential for special meetings to be called.
  • Remuneration $5,000 per annum (incl. GST).

The Committee structure is designed to include a balance of professional skills, knowledge and technical experience to effectively discharge its responsibilities outlined in the Audit and Risk Management Committee Charter. 

In addition to the key requirements of this role, you will have detailed knowledge and experience in business, governance and risk management relevant to a large organisation, in addition to business qualifications and an ABN. It is preferable that you understand the functions of local and/or state government and are a resident of the municipality.
