ABOUT MORELAND

Moreland City Council is located in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne and is one of the most populous and culturally diverse municipalities.  Located in Coburg, the Moreland City Council offices are just 8km from the CBD and are easily accessible by public transport or cycling.

ABOUT THE ROLE

A key focus of this position will be to work closely with community sport and recreation organisations to address their developmental needs and enhance the level of service that they provide to residents. Key responsibilities will include being a key Council contact for sport and recreation organisations, developing and maintaining forums with sport and recreation groups to address common issues, developing effective communication systems and playing a lead role in the allocation of Council’s sporting facilities.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE

• Tertiary qualification in Sport / Leisure / Recreation Management or associated discipline
• Knowledge of the community sporting sector
• Demonstrated ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Project management skills and the ability to develop project plans
• Flexibility to work outside of normal working hours
