ABOUT MORELAND

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are offering a fantastic opportunity to become part of the Social Support Team as a Community Driver. This position is an integral role in the delivery of our Social Support Programs.  You will be required to assist clients with mobility restrictions between home and destination.  Be attentive to the wellbeing of the residents and advise the Community Transport Co-ordinator of any significant problems evident in the health or social circumstances of the residents.  The ability to drive safely and in accordance with all relevant traffic regulations / legislation and comply with Vic Roads Corporation requirements.   Is responsible for the completion of driving and other associated tasks independently and in a safe and timely manner.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE

  • Must hold: Current driver accreditation certificate from Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria, Current Driver’s licence, minimum Light Rigid endorsed.
  • Certificate Level 1 First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake.
  • General knowledge on how to assist frail elderly people and / or people with disabilities.
  • Literacy and numerical skills to read, comprehend and observe all relevant procedures and work related documents.  The ability to read and follow map routes ie. Tablet, read street signs.
  • Sound driving history with Vic Roads.
  • Knowledge of road rules and regulations.
  • Good people skills and the ability to be calm and patient.
  • Ability to speak a community language.
  • Knowledge of the Moreland area.
  • Preferred applicants will be required to have a Police Check and Working With Children’s check.
