ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Zero Carbon Moreland (ZCM) Implementation Lead is a senior role in the Sustainable Communities Unit, within the City Change Branch.  This new position will develop and lead projects and partnerships to achieve key objectives, targets and priorities within Moreland’s Zero Carbon Moreland (ZCM) Climate Emergency Action Plan (2020/21 – 2024/25) and ZCM 2040 Framework.

The role has a specific focus on projects and initiatives to rapidly accelerate the community-wide Energy Transition ‘towards efficient and 100% renewably powered energy’. The role will be accountable monitoring and reporting on the five-year Action Plan and will collaborate with the new Zero Carbon Mobilisation and Campaigns Officer and Climate Emergency (Internal) Integration Officer to mobilise the community and cross-council staff in acting together for a safe and just climate future.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE

  • Demonstrated knowledge of sustainable energy sector 
  • Demonstrated experience leading innovative environmental programs/ projects including managing contractors and budgets 
  • Highly developed communication, presentation and negotiation skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with multiple stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualification in sustainability or related discipline
