  • Salary - $69,098 pa (pro rata) + Super
  • Contribute to the delivery of our diverse festival program at one of Melbourne’s leading Councils for the arts through the provision of efficient and effective administrative support
  • Fixed term position to 30 June 2023
  • Part time position (0.54 EFT)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an organised, proactive and efficient administrator to support the delivery of our festival program. The Festivals Assistant provides high level administrative assistance and support to the festivals team under the direction of the Executive Producer, Festivals. This includes assisting with email and telephone enquiries, Event Permitting, meeting administration and more.

A particular focus of this role is coordinating hospitality and stallholder processes for Coburg Night Market and Sydney Road Street Party, including applications and selection process, invoicing and liaison. Additionally, this role coordinates the artist application process and assists with contracting, marketing and artist liaison for all Moreland festivals including the much-loved Brunswick Music Festival.

This role will also be integral to the roll out and implementation of festival management software over the next 3 to 9 months as well as ongoing social media and marketing This is a fantastic opportunity for an early career arts administrator with an interest in festivals and community-engaged programming and who is keen to develop their skills while working collaboratively with a small and dedicated team in a great inner-city Council.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE 

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in administrative support roles involving considerable customer contact and a wide variety of administrative duties, preferably in an arts environment
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in developing and distributing promotional content for website, e-newsletter and social media
  • High level of communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience and/or strong interest in arts, culture and festivals
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including demonstrated experience in supporting people from diverse backgrounds and with diverse experience
  • High level of proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
  • Commitment to achieving consistently high standards of work
  • Experience in stallholder and/or hospitality management
