The Position

This is an exciting position to direct and lead the strategic risk management program for the City providing customer focused risk management and business continuity advice, guidance and education to the City of Canning's officers.

Key areas of accountability for this position will include;

  • Developing, maintaining and managing risk policies, framework and strategy to ensure a co-ordinated and consistent delivery and application and reporting of risk management throughout the City;
  • Leading the development and implementation of the City's risk management framework;
  • Managing the effective use of RMSS software within the Governance, Risk and Compliance group and also across the City;
  • Overseeing the development, implementation and review of the City's Business Continuity Plans, Critical Incident Management and Response Plans; and
  • Preparing written reports for presentation to the Audit & Risk Committee.

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following essential criteria;

  • Extensive experience at a senior level with the development and implementation of risk management programs in a complex environment;
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline;
  • Significant experience and knowledge of enterprise and operational risk management; and
  • Highly effective organisational and planning skills with a demonstrated ability to meeting competing deadlines without supervision.

Salary: $104,498 - $113,696 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications plus Superannuation.
