Governance Officer 

Permanent Position – Part Time, 60.8 hours per fortnight

The Position

Provide administrative support and advisory services for the City's governance processes, ensuring compliance with statutory provisions and policies.

Key areas of accountability for this position will include;

  • Coordinate the organisation, compilation and distribution of Council agendas, minutes and all other documents for the Executive Team, Council and Committees;
  • Attend council meetings, committee meetings, information sessions and other such forums as required in a governance capacity to facilitate minute taking and meeting processes;
  • Facilitate the completion of regulatory and statutory returns, primary and annual returns, annual compliance audit return, CEO biennial review, related party returns etc.; and
  • Maintain up to date Governance information in the City's Record Keeping System (Trim), on the Council Hub, LINC (intranet) and the City's website.

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria;

  • Sound understanding of the Local Government Act;
  • Experience in preparing meeting agenda papers, minutes and related documents;
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare minutes with accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Sound organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines; and
  • A positive solutions, focused attitude with attention to detail and ability to meet tight and multiple deadlines. Able to plan, organise and prioritise accordingly.

Salary: $71,427 - $79,475 pro rata per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications) plus superannuation.
