Development Engineering Officer

The Position

We are looking for a proactive professional to provide effective, efficient and customer focused engineering input to the Statutory Planning, Building and Strategic Planning teams within the City.

Key areas of accountability for this position will include;

  • Assess applications for development approval and/ or building permits from an engineering perspective in a timely and professional manner that meets the agreed KPI targets for the team;
  • Assess subdivision applications and prepare recommendations and conditions to the WAPC; and
  • Undertake site visits and carry out inspections of development to ensure compliance with conditions.

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria;

  • Completion or substantial progress towards a tertiary Civil Engineering qualification;
  • Highly developed negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Highly developed written skills, including the ability to undertake research, and write complex technical and strategic documents, including policies and procedures; and
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative.

Salary: $79,475 - $89,365 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications) plus superannuation.
