The City of Stonnington has an exciting opportunity for a Freedom of Information Officer to join our Corporate Services Division on a permanent part time basis (3 days per week), located at our modern and sustainable office in Malvern.
In this position you will utilise your professional experience to process FOI applications and coordinate and deliver Council’s responsibilities under the Freedom of Information Act 1982. Maintaining a high level of confidentiality, you will provide guidance and direction to Council staff and respond to any complaints or correspondence from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated Freedom of Information experience and strong knowledge of the legislation. Additionally you will have excellent time management skills to work to tight deadlines with a high attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to retain personal and sensitive information at the highest level of confidentiality are essential.
