As the Animal Management Coordinator you’ll play a vital part in developing, implementing and reviewing Council’s Domestic Animal Management Plan, Animal Welfare Plan and work closely with the Stonnington Pound and Save-A-Dog Scheme in contributing to the quality of Stonnington’s Animal Management Services. With your strong communication skills, you’ll provide staff management and leadership, professional development, human resources management and support and advice to our small but experienced Animal Management team. You will also be part of the broader Amenity and Compliance Department Leadership Team.
To be successful in this role you’ll be a strong leader and negotiator with the ability to build and strengthen relationships with staff and a range of stakeholders. Additionally you’ll have excellent time management and problem solving skills with experience in conducting investigations and researching and analysing legislation. Previous experience in the application of Local Government Legislation and enforcement activities and knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations and Local Laws is essential.
