The City of Stonnington has an exciting opportunity for a Youth Support Worker (Case Management Portfolio) to join our Middle Years and Youth Services Unit on a permanent full-time located at Youth Services, Prahran.
This position is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a broad range of programs and activities for young people aged 12 to 25 years across the municipality in conjunction with Youth Services Staff which includes planning and delivering:
- Case Management
- Expressions program – a series of events celebrating diversity for young people in Stonnington.
- FReeZA program - a youth leadership program focused on music and art events;
- BrickWork Fitness - a socio-emotional fitness program for vulnerable youth who are disengaged from education and mainstream community;
- Transitions Program which supports Grade 6 students through their transition to high school;
- Drumbeat - a school based outreach program that incorporates hand drumming, behavioural therapeutic principles and cognitive and dialectical elements;
This position specifically holds responsibility for the Case Management portfolio in conjunction with participation in the full range of activities offered by Stonnington Youth and Middle Years Services. The successful applicant will have significant experience working with young people aged 12 to 25 years, especially those from diverse backgrounds; demonstrated skills in working with young people in a case management capacity, demonstrated experience in event management; sound knowledge of and demonstrated skills in group work; good stakeholder and project management skills; and an ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
