The Community Recovery Coordinator will mobilise the community and coordinate implementation of the Community Recovery Plan following the COVID-19 pandemic. Leading a small team, this position will:
- Use community impact assessments to regularly monitor Plan appropriateness;
- Actively engage communities in co-designing appropriate responses and in implementing Plan priorities
- Create a conduit between the Community Recovery Committee; Municipal Emergency Planning Committee (MEMPC); Municipal Relief and Recovery Committee (MRRC) and the wider Council organisation
- Build community capacity to achieve long term sustainable recovery.
This role is temporary for 12 months. Ideally full time but we're open to flexible arrangements.
As we are looking to fill this role asap we will be interviewing while open for applications and closing the advert once a suitable candidate has been found.
We’re looking for a motivated professional, highly experienced in working within a community development framework with:
- Ideally a relevant qualification such as social sciences, community development or equivalent
- Engaging leadership and relationship building tactics
- Substantial experience working with diverse populations
- Experience in planning community engagement projects and group facilitation to implement projects, plans and other activities
