Job Description

Working across our organisation, you’ll be delivering communications strategies that partner with our work areas to keep people updated about things like community service programs, upcoming capital works and projects and opportunities for people to connect with our community clubs, open space and sports and recreation facilities.

With support from our Manager Communications and Engagement and Coordinator Communications, and linking in with our graphic designers and digital team, you'll build your skills and experience by helping us to tell stories and inform people across our online and offline communications channels.

Desired Skills and Experience

To succeed in this position you will need:

  • A strong mindset and experience in converting organisational strategies and priorities into clear messaging and communications outcomes
  • Experience in working in a high pressure communications team environment
  • A way with people that engages our staff to work with the communications team on programs and service delivery
  • Ability to work with designers, photographers and videographers to create multi-pronged communication strategies
  • Excellent writing skills as well as interpersonal / verbal communication skills for training and support
  • Enthusiasm and creativity that positively contributes to the communications team culture
  • A tertiary qualification in communications (or related discipline) or relevant experience in a communications environment
