Job Description

Our middle years and youth services programs are open to children and young people, aged 6 to 25 years, who live, work or visit Stonnington. Operating out of our two centres in Prahran (The Hub on the Horace Petty Estate and Grattan Gardens) the dedicated Middle Years and Youth Services Teams work collaboratively to deliver a range of support services, engagement and learning programs and social events.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Coordinator to join us at Stonnington and lead the delivery of this important service to the community. As the Coordinator you'll lead and inspire these dynamic and passionate teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for our community, working in a complex environment. 

In this position you’ll be responsible for coordinating the provision of services and programs, and developing strategic plans which will enrich the lives of young people, positively impact the community and provide a safer environment for young people within the municipality. You'll be working with young people across the municipality as well as a number of strategic partners to deliver responsive programs to meet their varied needs. 

Desired Skills and Experience

To succeed in this position you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Youth Services or a related field with proficient knowledge of child and adolescent developmental needs and substantial experience in the provision of case management and working middle years and youth services
  • Demonstrated experience in complex community liaison and empowerment 
  • Experience in the strategic planning, development and coordination of middle years and youth services and programs
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial procedures, an understanding of State and Commonwealth policy and funding agreements for developing projects and submissions that secure resources from government and non-government agency bodies
  • Strong time management and organisation skills to juggle competing deadlines and demands of service delivery 
  • Effective methods for developing and leading others to create cohesive and engaged teams
