Job Description

This position will lead the engineering capability within Council to design and implement technology in a manner that supports our operational and strategic needs.
You will develop a technology roadmap and will lead a team to implement this plan according to architectural principles and engineering standards.
The technology platforms involved includes PC endpoint, networking, server and application technologies and covers IaaS, PaaS, Microsoft Azure and Office365 technologies.
You will also work with partners involved with providing services to Council, to ensure that these are delivered in a manner that meets our engineering requirements.
This is a key role in Council and is seen as providing a fundamental centre of excellence within the overall Technology team.

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will require significant industry experience and a track record in a senior IT engineering role, involved with PC endpoint, networking, server and application technologies. This experience will need to include Microsoft Azure and Office365 services.
You will also need experience in the development of architecture and standards, and also the inclusion of cyber security in the design and implementation of solutions.
You will need to have worked in Waterfall / Agile project delivery environments and have knowledge of Commercial or Government sectors, with proven delivery and relationships. 
You will require highly effective communication and collaboration skills with proven methods for developing a highly skilled and cohesive team
Also, a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, etc) will be required, or an equivalent level of experience and qualifications.
