Job Description

This position is responsible for assessing and processing planning applications, having regard to relevant Council policy and planning scheme provisions. This includes negotiating with stakeholders, providing high quality and timely advice regarding planning applications, planning scheme requirements and Council policies to the public and planning applicants as well as preparing accurate written correspondence on planning related matters.

You will get the opportunity to manage a diverse range of high profile projects within a fast moving and vibrant team.

Desired Skills and Experience

To succeed in this position you will need:

  •  A tertiary qualification in town planning or a related field or relevant experience
  •  A current drivers licence
  •  Demonstrated experience in a planning environment with the ability to interpret the Planning and Environment Act 1987
  •  Well developed communication, negotiation and problem solving skills
  •  A cooperative attitude, great interpersonal skills and the ability to positively contribute to a cohesive team
